Campaign Games
The aim of the campaign is for each Commander to attempt to control as many districts as possible, expanding their territory with the aim of domination of Vogan Prime. Once all available districts are controlled by Commanders, the final phase of the campaign will be revealed.Every campaign game must be played for a determined district, with the winner of the game claiming the district as part of their territory. If the result of the game is a draw, which is possible for scenario systems such as YAMs, the winner will be decided by the highest number of points on the table at the end of the game.
Every commander is limited to playing one campaign game per week. If a commander does not play a campaign game at least once in four weeks, their territories will become neutral and available for other commanders to control. Campaign games can be any points limit, played on any table and use any scenario system. However, lists for campaign games must be determined prior to arriving at the club (printed copy to be available upon arrival), and the table played on will be determined at random upon arrival. Commanders are not restricted to a single Infinity faction during the campaign.
Should a Commander be playing against a casual player, the casual player will represent The Syndicate and must nominate a district using the same rules below.
Selecting a Base District
Each commander begins the campaign by selecting their base district, from the available pre-determined available base districts. Each of the following base districts is adjacent to five neutral districts. These are the Base Districts available at the start of the campaign:
- Mercantile Pleasure District (East)
- Cartel House Dwellings
- Trading Houses
- Administrative Quarter
- Basilica Imperalis
- Fortification 3
- HAB Epsilon
- HAB Alpha
- HAB Gamma
Syndicate Districts
At this stage of the campaign these districts are held by The Syndicate and cannot be controlled by a commander, nor can they be nominated for a game:
- Palace of Peace
- Palace Grounds
- Angel Square
- Sniper's Alley North
- Sniper's Alley South
Selecting a District for a Campaign Game
Every campaign game must be played for the control of a district of Vogan Prime, with the winner of the game adding the district to their claimed territory.
Each player will first nominate a district they wish to claim. After both players have nominated a district, a FtF LT WIP roll will determine which of the nominated districts will be played for.
Each player will first nominate a district they wish to claim. After both players have nominated a district, a FtF LT WIP roll will determine which of the nominated districts will be played for.
Before a campaign game, each player will nominate a district to fight for, with the following restrictions:
- a base district cannot be nominated (see above for list of all base districts)
- a Syndicate District cannot be nominated (see above for list of all Syndicate districts)
- the nominated district must be a neutral district, or a district controlled by the opposing player
- Syndicate players (casual players) can only nominate a neutral district.
Determining a District
Once each player has nominated a district, and a face-to-face roll is made, using the LT WIP value. The game will be played on the district nominated by the winner of this roll.
The winner of the campaign game will claim that district as their territory.
If the district selected for the campaign game;
- is controlled by one of the players: then that player gets both choice of turn order, and choice of deployment side and order.
- is neutral, but one of the players controls more adjacent districts: then that player automatically wins the LT WIP roll at the start of the game.
- is neutral, and both players control an equal number of adjacent districts: no extra special rules apply, and the game is played as normal.
EXAMPLE
Sync's Red Base District is the Trade House, and he also controls Execution Square (A). Severoth's Blue Base District the Genatorium. |
If HAB Alpha (B) is determined as the district for the game, then Severoth will automatically win the LT WIP roll at the start of the encounter, because he controls more adjacent districts to HAB Alpha (B) than Sync.
If Basilica Imperialis (C) is selected for the encounter, then the game is played under normal Infinity rules, as both players have an equal number of adjacent districts (in this example, zero) - so neither player claims a territorial advantage over the other.
